Zaine sat on a bench in the courtyard running a hand through his hair. He was about to ruin his entire life in a matter of minutes. The male let out a fustrated groan and looked around waiting for Demi to come and join him so he could break her heart. He wasn't even sure she would show up. He had sent the girl a cryptic message saying to meet him in the courtyard and that's all. He sighed again and looked around at all the happy couple and this just made him even more depressed. He did love Zailey but it was so hard to stay on the right track with her. Him and Demi on the other hand almost felt perfect. They were such a great couple they knew each other inside and out. It was like a match made in heaven. "Ugh!" He said pulling out his phone and checking the time. He just wanted to ruin his life already and then go and crawl into a whole and die.

Demi had been laying on her bed reading Burned the next book of House of Night when she heard he phone vibrate. it was a text from Zaine telling her to meet him in the Court Yard. Good now she would be able to ask him why he had been avoiding her lately. The girl put her book mark in the book then closed it and placed it on the side table. With a sigh, Demi got up off the bed and moved over to the door. She put her phone back in her pocket before she opened the door and walked out, heading toward the court yard. When she arrived she spotted Zaine and smiled. She went the long way around and entered the court yard so she was facing the back of Zaines head. The female moved over to him and placed her hands over his eyes "Guess who" She said, trying to disguise her voice.

Zaine sat on the bench letting another small sigh out before he felt hands over his eyes. By the smell of her and the sound of her voice he knew exactly who it was. His heart quaked at the pain he knew he was going to cause her and he pulled her hands away from his eyes without guessing and move her over to sit next to him. He then bit his lip and kissed her cheek before pulling away and looking down at the ground. "We kinda need to talk." He said swallowing and closing his eyes not wanting to tell her about Zailey and keep what they had still intact. He let out another sigh debating on letting this awkwardness linger a little longer or to come out and tell her. He brought his hand up and let it rest on her jawline before rubbing his thumb lightly over it as his eyes stayed connected with her. "I love you so so much Demi." He then leaned in and kissed her lightly before pulling away. "I really really do but somethings come up and. . ." He sighed and looked down just about ready to cry. He swallowed and turned away from her not able to look at her at all. This was breaking him inside and he was ready to just go and jump off a cliff. "I can't see you anymore Demi." He said still facing forward with his head down ready for the crying or anger.

A frown appeard on her face when Zaine took hold of her hands and pulled her around to sit on the bench, that wasn't how you played the game. When she sat down she felt his lips touch her cheek which made her smile. "We kinda need to talk." She gave a small nod "Kay.." She said. Demi waited in silence for the male to tell her what was up already. Instead of getting words, she got his hand rubbing her jawline. I love you so so much Demi." She listened to his words then kised him back. "Yeah I love you too..." She said raisng an eyebrow in confusion. "I really really do but somethings come up and. . ." Demi frowned and moved away from him "I don't like where this is going.." She said, studying him. "I can't see you anymore Demi." The words hit her like a ton of bricks. She didn't know what to feel, hate? sadness? Angry tears pricked at the corner of her eyes. "Grace was right" She said, her voice choking a little. "Do I even get a reason?" She asked quietly.

Zaine's heart was pounding in his throat as he waited for her reaction and when it came in cringed and frowned even more look down at his shoes. What did he do? He groaned a bit at her next words and shook his head. "I-I can't tell you the reason but just know I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't serious." He gulped and then stood up. Tears were pricking the corner of his eyes as he finally got the courage to look at her. "I'm soo sorry Demi. I don't want this but I have to do it. I really wish I could tell you the reason but I made a promise I wouldn't." He then kissed her cheek once more before turning on his heels and starting to walk away. He finally let the tears flow swiftly down his cheeks. The male looked back biting his lip the tears never stopping and then headed on once again.

"I-I can't tell you the reason but just know I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't serious." Demi frowned "Yeah how many times have you used that one before" She said in a cold voice. "I'm soo sorry Demi. I don't want this but I have to do it. I really wish I could tell you the reason but I made a promise I wouldn't." Demi shook her head "Save it! I never want to see your pathetic face again" She spat at him, tears rolling down her cheeks, smudging her mascara. When he kissed her cheek she didn't flinch, she just watched as he left, running away like a coward. Demi rubbed her eyes and stood up before walking quickly back to her dorm room. Once she reached it she kicked open the door then slammed it behind her. Now that she was in the safety of her own bedroom, she let the tears she had held back roll. The liquid over flowed and streamed down her cheeks. The girl moved over to her bed and threw herself on it, he face pressing into the pillow. She wanted to die right now, just leave the world and all its hurt behind. But she couldn't because that would be selfish, so instead she would just suffer. With a sniffle, Demi kicked off her shoes and held her pillow close to her, letting the tears soak the material. There was nothing anybody could say or do right now to make her feel better, she wanted to suffer in silence, it was the only way she knew how to put up with the pain.

Zaine cringed at every word the girl said and sighed as he watched the tears flow down her face. He couldn't believe he was doing this but he had to. He just wished he wouldn't have hurt Demi in the process. The boy got up kissed the girls cheek and then left for Zailey's. He had promised her a cake and she would get one and then he would leave. He wasn't really in the mood to be around that girl right now but he promised her something and he would go through with it. The male sighed as tears streamed down his cheeks and he ran a hand through his hair. He hated himself so much right now. He wished he could have told her the reason but promises were promises even though he had just broken the biggest on with his best friend. "UGH!" He yelled and then entered Winters.

Grace was in the bathroom when she heard the door slam open. She frowned lightly and continued applying a small amout of makeup. Once it was on she walked out of the room and into the bedroom. When she saw Demi she frowned and bit her lip. "Demi?" She said walking over to the girls bed and then sitting down. She started running her hand up and down the girls back trying to comfort her. She didn't now what was wrong but it probably had something to do with her brother. She sighed and ran her one hand through her hair while the other rubbed the girls back. She knew what this was like and she knew the best thing right now was silence. When the girl finally calmed herself down Grace would be able to comfort her more.

The ebony haired girl continued to let the tears spill, not caring if she was ruining her pillow. When she heard the voice of her best friend she flinched a little, she reminded her to much of Zaine. A small sigh escaped when Grace started rubbing her hand up and down her back. She just wanted to be alone. After a while, Demi managed to get the tears to stop. She lifted her head and looked over to Grace with big red puffy eyes. "Zaine broke up with me" She choked out. Her eyes watered again and over flowed with more tears. She slammed her head back down into the pillow and cried silently.

Grace continued to rub the girls back until she slowly started to stop. When the girl said Grace's brother broke up with her she sighed and shook her head. She knew this would happen but she had thought Zaine had changed. "I'm sorry sweetie. Do you want or need anything. Maybe some ice cream or chocolate?" The girl asked in a soft her hand resting on the girls upper back. She then stood up and went to her desk pulling out wallet and then turning back to Demi. The girl ran a hand through her hair and pulled out her phone feeling it viberate. She looked at the name first and bit her lip debating on replying or not but finally decided to as she still was waiting for her friend to anwser her. Grace tapped her feet on the ground unsure of what she should do. Grace could feel the tension in the air that she had done something wrong but that was only because She was Zaine's sister and all she did was remind Demi of what she used to have. The girl sighed again and then bit into her lip waiting for a reply to the text.

Demi glanced over to the brunette when she spoke. "I'm sorry sweetie. Do you want or need anything. Maybe some ice cream or chocolate?" "No thanks. Maybe later" She sighed. Usually she would jump at the chance for chocolate and ice cream but this was a different type of break up, it was like her heart had been ripped from her chest then broken into a million pieces. Maybe it was because she had been falling love with Zaine, maybe it was because their friendship was ruined too. With a sigh, Demi pressed her face into the pillow, smothering herself. Only when she was gasping for air did she turn her head to the side for oxygen.

Grace sighed and slowly nodded her head, "Alright well I'm gonna go out then. I know you probably don't wanna be around people. Call me if you need anything alright?" The girl asked with a small smile before picking up her purse by her bed and then walking toward the door. She sighed and shook her head as she looked back at Demi running a hand through her hair. She hated seeing her friend like this. It was the worst feeling ever.

When her friend was gone she pulled back the covers and slipped under them before pulling them back up. She curled up again and closed her eyes, letting herself fall into a deep sleep so she could forget all the pain.
